...to my very own official dim7ay branded CIA approved pro max first blog entry!

This is destined to be my second Notes app, and so I wouldn't expect quality written journal entries about the progression of some FL Studio fuckarounds that I call my music career. Instead, expect some random thoughts and opinions from the individual behind the made-in-China Napstablook character!

Up until now, this type of updates were done through the YouTube posts, Newgrounds news, and random song descriptions, but these can get pretty messy to follow along. 'specially if you're like me, and you enjoy reading juicy entries about whatever happens in a random person's life, a liiittle bit more than you should.

14 yr-old me rambling xP

And so, for my craving to share my out-there thoughts and life-happenings that are a little too specific to share in-person, and for every listener of mine that has a little too much time on their hands, but not enough money to subscribe to Netflix and follow along with a trashy, but guilty pleasure-ish story: You're welcome.

I mean... I hope that I will keep this up for more than two entries, since I have a bad habit of dropping projects that I may lose interest for. But it's maybe for the better, since only the most passion-inducers of ideas get finished, so everything I complete is a passion project first and foremost. And with such a small yet lovely audience, what else are you expected to do? Most underground artists (such as myself) only make art for the pleasure of it, because there can't be any stable monetary motivation in a community such as this. A small portion of underground artists make it into the mainstream just by accident: when their artistry happens to connect with a large majority of people, that until then had that secret itch that couldn't be scratched with any other mainstream artist. These people then themselves become mainstream pop artists as time goes on, and what was just another underdog's style back then, makes up the current Pop sound. Then some people will look at that success and will strive to achieve it too, by going along with whatever is Pop.

I don't perceive these people as artists, but more like entrepreneurs, businessmen, and content creators (will explain that use shortly after). Their content is nothing more than an investment (such as in stocks) of their time, and if you're gonna invest in something, you'll invest in something that is certain, something kinda bullet-proof, and something that has a high reward for a low risk. And that low risk couldn't be anything else than mainstream content. When I talk about content, I don't necessarily mean music (even though that's kind of my thing), I mean the products of the base arts (art, music, video, writing etc) that are made with cash in mind. In my opinion, the more Pop something is, the more content it is, rather than art. And consequently, the more mainstream a person is, the more of a Content Creator they are, than an Artist. My opinion essentially boils down to: content creators = soulless, artists = soulful. But maybe it just could be the motivation too, like an artist that just enjoys making Pop music. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I personally find content creators in that sense unethical. But maybe that's my personal problem. In the end, content creators aren't anything more than workers or investors, as workers invest their time and energy and investors invest their money. So in that mindset, I don't find the possibility of content creators getting replaced by AI bad at all. On the contrary, I find that a PC making soulless music is way more ethical than a person making soulless music, because that person would otherwise willfully use their audience as a means of payment.

In extension, I think AI will have the effect that machines have had on society. Workers in the industrial revolution such as shoemakers and dressmakers lost their jobs because of machines and mass production, but now we enjoy such amenities for way, way cheaper. So now, a shoemaker, or more a modernly called designer, isn't one that necessarily does this job for the monetary gain, but as a passion first and foremost. And now, the best designed and most expensive shoes are the hand-made ones. That's what I think will happen with AI. People will lose the jobs that can be replaced with AI, such as article writers, logo designers, video editors, as companies will now be able to do these things for way cheaper, and they will strive to do so, -because capitalism-. But, because these kinds of positions will no longer have a monetary gain, only people who are passionate about them will pursue them, and so the projects they make will always be high quality passion projects. So, for example, video-editing will be more accessible (like shoes), and only passionate editors will make high quality content (like high quality shoes).

No, I'm not that fond of AI taking over our lives. I think that's a very human reaction, and I believe anyone who says that they like AI are nothing more than a hypocrite. However, I do subscribe to the idea that all things eventually even out over time. Even in the worst case of robots taking over and killing us all (!), they will just eventually rot too, and earth will eventually be recovered to just bunnies and cool dinosaurs chilling under the sun. Pretty cool scenario imo!

Damn, I just said I wouldn't write quality written journal entries. I think I just needed to get this out of my mind first. Expect the next entry to be nothing more than shower thoughts :o
